Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Juicy, sweet strawberries dipped in smooth dark chocolate with a hint of sea salt for the perfect bite - simple, elegant, and irresistibly delicious.

Yield: 8 medium large strawberries

Ingredients:

  • 8 medium/large organic strawberries, washed and dried completely  (For the best results, keep the strawberries cold in the fridge before dipping)

  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips (70% or higher)

  • ½ teaspoon coconut oil (for a smooth, glossy coating)

  • ¼ teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Wash the strawberries and pat them completely dry with a paper towel. Any moisture will prevent the chocolate from sticking properly. Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, use a double boiler on the stovetop.

  3. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, twirling to coat evenly. Let the excess chocolate drip off, then place the strawberry on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

  4. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle each strawberry with a pinch of flaky sea salt.

  5. Place the strawberries in the fridge for about 15 to 20 minutes, until the chocolate hardens.

  6. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
