I hope you had a great holiday, full of joy, laughter, and delicious food. As we welcome the new year, it's a wonderful time to hit the reset button, reevaluate our goals, and set our priorities.
The start of a new year is a symbol of renewal and fresh beginnings. However, it's common to feel overwhelmed when our New Year's resolutions are too lofty. The key is to choose goals that are small, achievable, and, most importantly, fun! Choose something you can look forward to doing daily.
Many of my clients are participating in Dry January, an excellent way to kickstart the year with a healthy and mindful approach to wellness. To support this journey and add a touch of fun to your evenings, I've crafted a collection of winter-inspired, sugar-free mocktails. These delightful beverages are refreshing, sweetened only with minimal fruit, and will align with your health goals without sending your calorie count into overdrive.
Why drink a Mocktail?
Mocktails are a fantastic way to enjoy "a drink" without the negative effects of alcohol. They're free from the empty calories and the health risks associated with alcoholic beverages.
They allow you to participate in social settings or relax at home without compromising your health goals.
They're fun! They allow for creative expression in the kitchen, a myriad of flavor combinations, and they are pretty to look at. By experimenting with these recipes, you're embracing a fun and enjoyable way to stay refreshed and motivated.
Heartwarming Mocktail Recipes

1. Tangerine Orange & Raspberry Twist
(pictured above)
6 oz brewed herbal tea (Tangerine Orange Zinger), chilled
1 ice cube with fresh raspberries frozen inside
Orange mango sparkling water
5 frozen blueberries
Garnish: 2 raspberries skewered with a lime wedge
Instructions: Place the raspberry ice cube in a glass. Add the chilled herbal tea and top with orange mango sparkling water. Add frozen blueberries. Garnish with the raspberry and lime skewer.
2. Lemon Ginger Fizz
8 oz chamomile tea, brewed and chilled
1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger, grated
2 oz fresh lemon juice
Sparkling water
Garnish: Lemon twist and a sprig of thyme
Instructions: Combine the chilled chamomile tea, grated ginger, and lemon juice in a glass. Top with sparkling water. Garnish with a lemon twist and a sprig of thyme for an aromatic touch.
3. Spiced Apple Cinnamon Delight
8 oz cinnamon apple spice tea, brewed and chilled
Sparkling water
Garnish: Thin apple slices and a sprig of rosemary or sage
Instructions: Fill a fancy glass with ice, pour in chilled tea, and top with sparkling water. Garnish with apple slices and a sprig of rosemary or sage.
4. Berry Rosemary Refresher
1/2 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
8 oz coconut water (or sparkling water)
A squeeze of fresh lime juice
Garnish: A sprig of rosemary and lime wheel
Instructions: Muddle the berries at the bottom of a glass. If you love the flavor of rosemary, gently press the sprig into the glass a few times after muddling the berries. Add ice, pour in coconut water (or sparkling water) and add a squeeze of lime juice. Stir gently. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary and a lime wheel.
5. Cucumber & Herb Cooler
1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
5 mint leaves
8 oz sparkling water
A squeeze of fresh lemon juice
Garnish: Cucumber ribbon and a sprig of fresh mint
Instructions: Place cucumber slices and mint leaves in a glass and muddle slightly. Add ice, pour in sparkling water, and add a squeeze of lemon juice. Stir and garnish with a cucumber ribbon and a sprig of mint.
