September is here, and as we soak up the last rays of summer sunshine, there's no denying that fall is just around the corner. That means sweater weather, colorful leaves, and unfortunately, the start of cold and flu season. But don’t worry, I've got the perfect elixir to keep your immune system strong and ready for the seasonal shift: Orange Ginger Turmeric Immunity Shots!

This shot is a zesty blend of vitamin C-packed fruits and anti-inflammatory spices, perfect for keeping you feeling your best as we transition into the cooler months. Whether you're looking for a daily boost or a quick pick-me-up, this simple recipe has you covered.

All you need are a few fresh ingredients, a high-speed blender, a fine mesh strainer, and a jar to store them in, and you’re ready to go!

The Power Behind the Ingredients

Oranges for Vitamin C: Oranges are rich in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that helps strengthen your immune system and protects your body from illness.

Lemons for Antioxidants: Lemons are another fantastic source of vitamin C and antioxidants, helping to fight off infections and support overall wellness.

Turmeric for Anti-Inflammation: Known for its bright color and potent anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric helps reduce inflammation and boost your immune system.

Orange Ginger Turmeric Immunity Shots

Kickstart your immune system with a zesty blend of vitamin C rich fruits and anti-inflammatory spices, perfect for the transition into fall.

Servings: About 16oz, or 8 shots (total amount varies depending on how large and juicy your oranges and lemons are)

Ingredients:

2 oranges, peeled and segmented into quarters

2 lemons, cut in half and juiced

3 inch piece of fresh turmeric sliced,  or 1 Tbsp turmeric powder

½ cup fresh ginger sliced

⅛ - ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (depending on your spice preference)

½ cup clean, filtered drinking water

Instructions:

  1. Place all ingredients to a high-speed blender. Pour in ½ cup of water.

  2. Start blending on a low speed, then gradually increase to high until the mixture is smooth, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl or measuring cup. Use a spoon or spatula to press the mixture through the strainer, extracting as much liquid as possible. This takes a little time, so find your zen while pressing.

  4. Pour the liquid into a jar or shot glass and enjoy!

Keep in Mind: Turmeric can stain, so embrace the vibrant hue as a badge of your healthy choices, or wear gloves while preparing.
